Security on meter installations have always been a problem.  All locking devices can be defeated; but doing so constitutes a "crime" against the company.  By having the GPI Security Cap installed, the perpetrator sees the warning before damaging the secured device.  This can provide the gas distribution company with the necessary tool for criminal prosecution.
